Job Description
As the Maintenance Supervisor, you play a vital role in ensuring the property is safe, efficient, and well-maintained. You will oversee the daily operations of the maintenance team, delegate tasks, and ensure that both preventive and corrective maintenance are carried out effectively. Through your leadership, you help create a welcoming, well-maintained environment that leaves a positive, lasting impression on every guest, while ensuring full compliance with safety protocols, brand standards, and operational goals.
Key Focuses
Maintains a friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor during all guest encounters and responds appropriately to guest complaints.
Maintains product knowledge of all room types, hotel layout, hotel amenities, and emergency exits.
Understands various system requirements, such as mechanical, electrical, fixtures, and equipment.
Conducts scheduled inspections, preventive maintenance, and uses diagnostic tools to proactively identify and resolve issues before they escalate.
Document and maintain detailed records on all physical equipment, life safety systems, and items requiring regular inspection.
Maintains guest rooms, public guest space, and onsite amenities, including pool/hot tub and back-of-house areas, by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades, to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel.
Assists the Maintenance Manager in overseeing all major mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring operational efficiency, minimizing downtime, and completing administrative tasks such as inventory management, work order tracking, reporting, and documentation.
Coordinates and prioritizes work orders and preventive maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and tile repair.
Assists with development and leads implementation of a preventative maintenance program to extend the longevity of equipment and facilities, including monitoring and tendering of service contracts.
Keeps guest satisfaction top of mind by responding to maintenance issues, problem solving and resolving issues in a timely manner.
Monitors, tracks, and updates checklists, inventory, and work logs for all facility operations equipment and supplies.
Trains, motivates and supervises maintenance staff to ensure performance and excellent service standards are achieved.
Ensure the highest level of communication between leadership, operations and the maintenance team. This includes but is not limited to, deficiencies, daily pass on and email communication follow up.
“Hands on” and “Lead by example” approach with day-to-day maintenance and pool operations duties and/or projects as required.
Ensure Health and Safety is a top priority for all staff. Proper PPE and processes are always followed.
Ensure that all operations are conducted in compliance with all environmental legislation and approved policies and procedures.
Experience/Passions/Education
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience with strong knowledge and understanding of engineering and maintenance operations.
Strong knowledge of pool/ hot tub operations, mechanical, carpentry and electrical services.
Experience in preventative maintenance, fire safety and health and safety
Proficient in Windows, PMS and MS Office applications
Strong attention to detail, problem solving and ability to work independently.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to quickly align with shifting priorities, work assignments and timelines.
Post secondary education in a related field is a definite asset including:
Pool Operations Certification
Building Operators Certification
Building maintenance Level 1 and 2
Confined space certificate
Diploma or degree in engineering related trades. Along with certification in related fields.

Working Conditions
This position may work long days and/or weekends to meet periodic upturns in business demands or meet deadlines. This position is set in a fast-paced environment, that requires continuous physical movement and the ability to manage multiple sequences and demands. This position will require periods of independent work and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
